Allen (Walter A.) Schmid was born and raised on a farm in Payette County Idaho.  He graduated from New Plymouth High School in 1976.  Allen attended the College of Idaho  and the United States Air Force Academy.   He graduated with academic and military honors from the Academy in 1981.   Upon graduation at the Air Force Academy he was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree and a regular commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the USAF.  Subsequent higher education included earning a Masters Degree from St Mary's University.


     Allen completed 26 years of service in the Armed Forces as an Officer in the active duty and Air Force Reserve.   Schmid is a veteran of the Bosnia conflict and both gulf wars.  Over his career in the military he received many awards including the aerial achievement, commendation , and  meritorious service medals..  He retired from the USAF reserve as a Lt Colonel.

     As a civilian and businessman, Allen worked for the Simplot company, Western Pacific airlines and American Trans Air.   Schmid is presently the owner and manager of Keep’ n Busy Inc trucking and the Schmid Family Farm LLC.  Allen is presently the Vice Chairman of the Payette conservation district.  He concluded his tenure on the Board of directors of the Pilgrim Cove Foundation serving as the foundation President


      Having lived and worked in combat zones and 3rd world countries,  Schmid knows what a great country the United States is and always has been.  He believes it is vitally important to continue the work necessary to defend our freedom and way of life.  Our future depends on strong business, plentiful jobs and the necessary education to carry us forward.
